NextGen Broadband Migrations: How do you eat the data elephant?

RRR

The data explosion

Today’s Communications Service Providers (CSPs) are surrounded by competing forces. The exponential growth in multimedia content, the evolution of cloud computing and the impact of increasing mobile usage, brings huge opportunities, new entrants and enormous pressures. Migration can help with flattening revenues and rising consumer expectations, where traditional business models have been stretched to breaking.

Flomatik’s upcycling partnership with Saxon Hill Craft Barn

reels

At Flomatik we’re committed to the ‘Life Cycle Perspective’ of the materials we use and the impact our waste has on the environment.

So our Birmingham office were delighted to be able to upcycle our waste and support a local Lichfield charity. The Saxon Hill Craft Barn is a resource and recycling centre, providing work based learning opportunities for young people and adults with physical and learning difficulties. Maria Pallett, Store Manager, commented this week: “I would like to say thank you for the three pallets of cable reels, they were very well received and consequently we had a lucrative weekend at the Craft Barn.”

We’re aiming to become a regular supplier of items such as foam, plastic tubing and wire cables for future upcycling fundraising projects at the Barn while lowering our carbon footprint.

For further information about supplying community recycling initiatives please contact Bryan Hughes or Katherine Ellis in our Minworth office.

Flomatik appoints Environmental Champion

Katherine Environmental

Flomatik were delighted to pass the final stage audit and receive certification for the ISO14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) standard at the beginning of September.

ISO 14001 supports Flomatik’s ongoing commitment to our own, and our global partners’, corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies.

As part of this accreditation, Katherine Ellis has stepped forward to be our Environmental Champion. Katherine, on the GIS team in Minworth, (and Flomatik 5-a-sider), has welcomed the challenge.

One of her responsibilities is to set objectives and achieve targets for Flomatik to reduce, reuse and recycle. The first of which will be to raise awareness across both Birmingham and Fareham offices with an internal marketing campaign for reducing waste.

We look forward to seeing the results over time, and welcome other ideas that Katherine may initiate in her role as Environmental Champion.
