Flomatik Network Services celebrates investment and expansion of their Engineering and Professional Services division in Birmingham, UK.

Flomatik Network Services held an open day on April 23rd to celebrate the investment in excess of £1M in their Network Services division in Birmingham, by their group owners, Teleste, a leading Finnish technology company operating for over 60 years, with net sales of €197M in 2014.

This ongoing expansion underpins the rapid growth of the UK services arm, which has quickly established itself as a premiere supplier of Network Engineering and Professional Services for both operators and their key suppliers that are expanding and developing their next generation of digital telecommunications infrastructures.

The new Birmingham engineering facility was visited by the Finnish Ambassador to the UK, Petta Huhtaniemi, along with local MP, Andrew Mitchell, with other high profile attendees from the DTI, and the Ministry of Defence. The day celebrated the success of Flomatik to date, its service expansion and the inward investment into the UK, and aimed to raise the profile of engineering services and skills in the UK.

The company is already working with various Further Education establishments and institutions, along with high profile partners such as Ciena, Arqiva, Virgin Media Business, and Equipment Suppliers such as Alcatel-Lucent, to drive interest and investment into new engineering talent. The day also celebrated Flomatik’s recent contract wins with three of the UK’s largest equipment vendors and network operators.

The Birmingham Engineering centre provides 30Kft2 for training, remote network operations and service delivery, as well as state-of-the-art, fibre termination and assembly to support the country’s dynamic Telecommunications market, one of the most successful and profitable industries in the UK. The warehousing facility also provides the ability to stage, configure and test equipment before delivery, ensuring higher quality and faster end-service delivery across the UK and Europe.
