Here’s what you missed at Connected Britain

This year’s Connected Britain event, expertly hosted by Total Telecom at London’s Business Design Centre, was a fantastic two-day session – fuelled with constant streams of knowledge and inspiration, as well as an excellent opportunity to meet existing and potential clients, partners, and suppliers alike.
In line with the nationwide fibre rollout and amidst various headwinds that delegates were eager to unfold, there’s no doubt it was the busiest instalment to date. The utilisation of every space, plus next year’s planned transition to the ExCel convention centre, is testament to its success.
As Flomatik continues to expand into field services, as well as work in core and access networks, it’s clear the field is maturing. And for the first time, we had our parent company, Teleste, in attendance alongside the Flomatik team – showcasing its passive optical network (PON) products.
Coupled with our FTTH and network planning expertise, which help to drive innovation in the altnet space, this collaboration shows no bounds.
Flomatik’s CEO, Dean Checkley, commented: “Yet another busy and fulfilling event for Flomatik. There’s nothing quite like re-engaging with colleagues and customers in person, and re-energising that personal connection. A thoroughly enjoyable two days!”
Chief operations officer, Boyd Brimsted, added: “As the current COO at Flomatik, I had the privilege of being able to represent our company at the Connected Britain event this year. It is always a pleasure to meet current and potential new clients, as well as partners and friends made through the event over previous years.
“Thank you to all that took the time out to come and see us, and explore not only how Flomatik’s services have taken shape over the years, but also the opportunities to collaborate with our organisation going forward.
“It’s always such a well organised, enlightening, and informative event, and I look forward to attending again in 2023.”
And our chief strategy and innovation officer, Matt Harrison, continued the Connected Britain praise: “Although my back is saying otherwise, the event delivered its usual, fun-filled agenda – with the opportunity to catch up with old acquaintances and meet new ones at the busy Flomatik Network Services and Teleste joint stand, as well as take in some interesting panel session debates.
“It definitely seemed busier and bigger than ever – a testament to the current state of the industry. Bring on 2023 – see you all there!”
