The Brief

Following the consolidation of many UK independent cable companies into Virgin Media, the Graphical Information System (GIS) Consolidation programme was a significant but essential challenge.

Virgin Media needed to create a new geo-spatial inventory system, replacing legacy data stores. This would involve close collaboration and input from every part of Virgin Media, backed by Flomatik’s unique, hands-on experience with the network.

What we delivered

With a deep understanding of Virgin Media’s internal processes, we were poised to lead the GIS Consolidation project while maintaining business as usual. We provided an integrated team of technical delivery and domain experts, covering disciplines from GIS Consultancy, Planning and Design to Project Management.

Our iterative approach involved working through a structured process: assessing systems, designing improvements, building them, and then training users. Following each stage, we held a comprehensive review before repeating the process. Ultimately, we were able to make a complex transition feel effortless – and support Virgin Media every step of the way.

“Flomatik’s personnel are results-oriented, technically and commercially aware, and their turnkey approach helps reduce our overheads and continue to deliver successful programmes.”
